BFL withdraws Mamelodi suspension
The current impasse in the case involving the registration of Township Rollers left- back, Onkarabile Ratanang, has seen at least four people suspended from local football activities. Earlier this week, another suspension was issued out by Botswana Football League Chairman, Solomon Ramochotlhwane to Township Rollers Chief Executive Officer, Bennett Mamelodi, for the chaos that took place at Royal Aria Stadium in a match between Township Rollers versus Gaborone United. Another causality on the matter is Rollers’ Security Officer, Austin Motlatsi Montsi who was suspended from all football activities pending disciplinary hearing, after he allegedly refused to cooperate with the delegation of the commission of enquiry who were investigating what could have transpired. However, less than 48 hours after serving Mamelodi with a suspension letter, the BFL CEO quickly reinstated the Township Rollers chief.
“We refer to the letter dated the 3rd June 2022 in which you were notified of the suspension pending disciplinary hearing. We would like to unconditionally withdraw the suspension and withdraw the above letter. By virtue of withdrawal you are free to take part in any matter related to the execution of your mandate and that of the club. We regret the inconvenience caused on the above matter,” part of the reinstatement letter forwarded to Township Rollers
