AVANI WELCOMES SPRING IN STYLE

- BY PHEMELO RAMASU BG REPORTER

This past Sunday, Avani Gaborone Resort & Casino officially launched Spring in style.

It has been a while since the resort hosted an event. In fact, the last event that they hosted was back in winter. So in the absence of events, their clients have been yearning for something that could reassure them that they are still the ultimate lifestyle spot in town.

Dubbed the Bubbles & Bites Brunch, the event was hosted to celebrate phenomenal women in recognition of South african National Women’s Day. The event was a way for the resort to also support their neighbours. The Sunday event attracted the right crowd who were hungry for a bit of fun, in the form of entertainment, good wines, bubbles and good company.

Also unique about this particular event was the fact that the recently appointed PR and Marketing Executive, Samantha Bogopa, was hosting her first event. Acting General Manager, Candice Selato was every bit elegant and ready to mingle and interact with her clients. Selato has previously revealed that the event sought to give them the amazing opportunity to interact and engage with phenomenal women coming from different fraternities.

She further emphasized that it was imperative to create an environment where women can find time to gather and, share ideas and experiences in a social setting and inspire each other to greatness, in a less pressurized environment. And she and the team nailed everything that they set out to do.

Set- up in the garden was clean and refreshing. Everything about this event screamed spring.

Dress code for the day was spring with a touch of colour. Guests were treated to entertainment by the likes of Da O, Star Hezek, and Hai Cheng with some of the classics from the 80’ and 90’ s. Playing some of the old tracks that really evoked good memories from the guests, it was hard not to stand up and dance or sing along in the case of those who wished to practice their dance moves while sitting down. Even those who appeared to be older in age, could not resist to stand up and show the younger generation a thing or two about dancing.

For her part, Bogopa hailed the event a success. “Women came, young and old. They had great conversations. And we had a local beauty cosmetic company, Norah Cosmetics, where ladies had a chance to learn beauty tricks and tips,” she says, adding that they had lots of giveaways.

“The music was great with Hai Cheng who got the ladies dancing,” she explains.

On the menu, Chef Bae had pulled all the stops to serve guests with scrumptious food that tied well with the theme of the day. The menu had an array of dishes that include Shrimp bruschetta, beef rolls, chicken strips sesame, pork riblets, vegetable spring rolls. To top the day, they were served sweet treats that included Chocolate mousse, cheese ball, milk tart, vanilla and poppy seed cupcakes, as well as a mini cupcake.
