BFL clubs handed lifeline

- City Keagakwa BG Correspondent

The five ( 5) Botswana Football League ( BFL) clubs which were denied license to compete in the elite league by First Instance Body ( FIB) due to failure to satisfy club licensing manual have been handed a window of opportunity to submit all the required material for compliance.

According to an official communication from Botswana Football Association

( BFA), their application will be accompanied by P15 000 for reviewing, upon which the FIB will announce a final decision.

The said clubs are: Mogoditshane Fighters, Masitaoka, newly promoted Eleven Angels, Morupule Wanderers and Extension Gunners.

The BFA top brass were reportedly contemplating possibilities to engage Confederations of African Football ( CAF) to provide guidance over the impending matter. This past week, the BFA National Executive Committee ( NEC) met and

deliberated on the matter.

According to the association’s CEO, ‘ prayers’ were extended to the First Instance Body ( FIB), an independent organ dealing with club licensing, with the hope that they could reconsider their position of denying the clubs licenses to compete in the league. News emerged this week that the FIB have maintained a strong stance on their decision to deny the clubs a ticket to compete in the league and will not be swayed.
