Makhadzi billed for Palapye
This year’s People’s Festival Party event promises glitz and glam, while also celebrating independence festivities.
Other than just having fun, the event organizer, Gilbert Seagile, better known as PP wa Pimp of Gilbert Promotions tells BG Style that this event is aimed at promoting local tourism to boost the economy. He is certain that since the event is headlined by the African Queen of music, Makhadzi, who has proven to be the party lovers’ favorite; the Serowe/ Palapye community would have something worthwhile to enjoy this time. Seagile says it has been long overdue for the People’s Festival show to be revived, and this is the time. Noting that the festival preparations have been done with diligence, class and international standard, he says the VIP experience is totally out of this world. He explains to BG Style that the VIP category is dubbed ‘ People’s festival wine experience’ this time, as they would be offering one bottle of Boschendal 1985/ gin powder gin, as well as cocktail dinner throughout the night. Photo booth, is a guarantee, for capturing the moment, he says, adding that the VIP ticket is also all access pass, although, there is the actual spot with improved facilities like phone charging machine while sitting next to the stage. There would also be private parking, and detailed security, where one is escorted, wherever they go, for their safety. He emphasizes that Gilbert Promotions looks beyond just fun and so they have actually heightened security for the event.
He also says that, they delight in the fact that they have also introduced a pre- party which will be held in Serowe at Raby Farms on the 29th. In that regard, there will also be a party bus that will provide transport to revellers, from Gaborone to the destination and back. Seagile says the bus experience will nourished by top notch DJs who would satisfy the fun enthusiasts to the best of music in the airconditioned bus, with Wi- Fi, snacks and security. This package, he says includes two nights of camping at Bagae Nature Gardens and campsite, with photoshoot session, and there will also be a one stop break in Pallaroad, where the DJs would do what they know best to entertain people.
The festival will be held at Nkau Farm, and is expected to start as a family fun day from 11 00am, headlined by Chongchong, with jumping castles and swimming activities while the major event would follow at 20 00hrs.
Seagile reiterates that this is an opportunity for the people within the central district area to celebrate independence after the Covid pandemic restrictions.
“This is the first event after Covid, and we are glad to note that it would create temporary employment for the people within the entertainment industry, while also selling our country out there as we have renowned international artistes at the event too,” he says.
Among the artistes at the event, there will be Mafikizolo, Dj Copper, Dj Gouveia, Dj Sly, Dj Fondo Fire, the popular Danko’s Ezra Neethings, to mention a few and attendants should also anticipate a surprise act.
