KABELO ERIC TO PERFORM IN THE USA
The talented Kabelo Eric continues to fly the country’s flag high with his music as he is expected to perform in the USA, end of next month.
He is a renowned Gospel Music artiste and has been nominated before to represent Botswana internationally. He has done it again this year, as he has been selected by the Gospel Choice Music Awards Committee, Newark, Deleware, USA to perfom live on October 29th. He would be performing one of his killer jam tunes ‘ Rato La Hao Jeso’. In 2011, he was nominated in two different international awards and won one MOAMAS Award- Museke Online Africa Music Awards.
He says this year’s invite comes at the most opportune time, after COVID- 19 frustrations. “I am greatful for this recognition as it comes from thousands submissions and I have so far already booked and confirmed television and radio interviews in Newark, New York, and Texas,” he says.
Eric tells BG Style that he anticipates growth in his music career, from this event. “There is also going to be music business networking session in Newark, Delaware state, where the
Indie Rock Gospel Artists International show case will be hosted, and I’m glad to be part of this historic moment, “he says. “I have already arranged African live band for my performance. The band is made of one Motswana, also former ‘ We Must Praise’ producer, Jay Chords, who is now based in Seattle Washington,” he shares. Others are his Botswana based band manager, artist and lead guitarist, Tshiamo Mashinini; Kenyans and some Ghanaian musicians,. Seasoned music promoter and MC, Zenzele Hirschfeld is assisting him with the logistics as Botswana based Agent, and Trip manager, Eric shares. Hirschfeld is excited about this opportunity and says, it is proof that Botswana local music is good and internationally recognized. “This shows great development in the gospel fraternity of Botswana. Very often, gospel music is not embraced or supported in Botswana, as compared to other countries. So, to have Kabelo Eric chosen to showcase his talent in the diaspora does not only celebrates him as an individual but our African gospel music growth,” she shares. She calls for the government and the private sector to support him perform in a greater aundience in America.” It is also an opportunity not for him to only export culture and music but to gain the industry knowledge,” she says.
