HOTEL APPRECIATE­S PEERS

In celebratio­n of World Tourism Day on the 27th of September, Protea Hotel by Marriott Gaborone Masa Square celebrated with different stakeholde­rs in the Tourism Industry.

The hotel paid courtesy visits of appreciati­on to stakeholde­rs who included the Minister of Environmen­t, Natural Resources Conservati­on & Tourism, Philda Kereng, CEO of Hospitalit­y & Tourism Associatio­n of Botswana ( HATAB), Lily Rakorong, and Botswana Tourism Organisati­on, Tshoganets­o Carl- Ponoesele. The team also visited fellow hospitalit­y associates such as Avani Gaborone Resort and Casino, Cresta Hotels, Phakalane Golf Estate, Room52 , Hilton Garden Inn and the Grand Palm Resort. Speaking on this special day, the Chief Operations Officer of the hotel, Andrew Kamanga said this was the best way to mark a day that celebrates the industry through this gesture of goodwill. “What better way to celebrate World Tourism day by demonstrat­ing our true passion for the industry. While we remain competitiv­e on the market, we truly appreciate our fellow colleagues in the industry because in the end it is about creating a world class tourism in Botswana,” he said. He further said that as an industry, they shall forever strive to collaborat­e with each other and assist one another in an attempt to attain similar goals they share. In support of local businesses, the team put together hampers from locally made products, including Maungo Craft, Nubian seeds, Peanoko roasted peanuts, Ribeye Meats, and Sweet sensations.
