LION KING AUDITIONS IN SA

Word of Mouth Pictures, Disney Theatricals official casting company in South Africa, is calling on all singers to come and try their luck at the open call auditions. The singers must be between the ages of 18- 30 years, and no previous experience is necessary. This coming Friday, the auditions will take place at Joburg Theatre, The Playhouse ( Durban) on October 28th and The Artscape ( Cape Town) on November 1st.

For Botswana singers who are eyeing the international stage, this is the perfect opportunity for them to try their luck at one of three auditions. Botswana already has a representative who is presently flying the flag high. She happens to be Debbie with a T, and she left last year to join the cast of The Lion King Musical. She is based in France, and calls Mogador Theatre home. The 32- year- old auditioned at these same auditions in 2019, in Cape Town. Johnson Otlaadisa of New Look Studios has urged Batswana to use this opportunity to try their luck. Otlaadisa is familiar with the work of Word of Mouth. He explains that those who will be successful at the auditions stand a chance to join the cast of one of the 12 productions that fall under Disney across the world.

“I am urging Batswana to try their luck. This is a great opportunity,” he says. He further says that those who are successful at the auditions will be sent to one of the 12 productions, and will be joining Debbie with a T in the Disney family. “Currently, there is a big demand for theatre performers,” explains Otlaadisa.
