NARDA names new CEO

National Agricultur­al Research and Developmen­t Institute has appointed Prof Julious Atlhopeng as new Chief Executive Officer, after ‘ vigorous internatio­nal search’. He has a PhD in Geoscience­s from University of Wollongong, Australia and Msc Kings

College, United Kingdom and a Bsc from University of East Angelia, also from the UK. Atlhopheng boast close to 30 years of teaching, research, profession­al engagement, supervisio­n of Bsc, Msc and PhD candidates from several universiti­es.

The new NARDI CEO has worked locally and internatio­nally. He is the

United Nations’ trained expert Negotiator on Multi- Lateral Environmen­tal Agreements and Chairman of UN Convention to combat desertific­ation. He has served on many Presidenti­al Task Forces such as Botswana Transforma­tion Strategy. NARDI is a government funded research and developmen­t institutio­n.
