Tshikare drop- kicks Kofukan Federation
National Karate team head coach, George Tshikare has recently resigned from his role as Botswana Kofukan Federation ( BKF) Public Relations Officer ( PRO) after he was slapped with a suspension letter by Chairman Orchard Kgosieile.
The letter reads, “Kindly be informed that you are duly suspended from engaging in any activity as a BKF member pending investigation of your actions. It has come to the attention of this federation executive committee that you have continued to engage in activities that are legally binding and detrimental to the well being of the federation without being sent by the federation or at least informing the federation of your actions.” Further the letter stated that the other reason for suspensions is that Tshikare attended a meeting 25/ 09/ 2022 which he was advised not to attend by the chairman.
“You also continued to sign a letter dated 22/ 10/ 2022 of which you did not inform the federation about your decision. These actions indicate that you are acting on your own volition which disregards the unified interests of the federation. The actions are not part of your mandate as a PRO of the federation, according to BKF constitution. “By this write up, you are therefore informed that you are suspended from Botswana Kofukan Federation activities, meetings and any other activity that bears the badge of the federation, This suspension stands until a committee convened by BKF has investigated the matter and forwarded its resolution to this office.”
Following this turn of events, Tshikare took a decision to terminate his membership with the federation, ending his 20 year stay at the Federation. “Yes, I have terminated my membership with Botswana
Kofukan Federation on Monday, the reasons being that there are a lot of things that we don’t agree with and I found it an unhealthy environment and opted to leave,” he said in an interview this week.
Furthermore, he said this was plotted. “They have been planning to get rid of me so I gave them a relief and made things more easier for them by terminating my membership,” he said. “I am a Karateka, nobody can push me out of karate, it is only me who can stop. I will do Karate until I die. Announcement will be made very soon about my next stop.”
