Kavazovic unconfirmed at Sua
Both the team spokesperson and coach’s manager dismiss the rumours
Following the sacking of Rahman Gumbo, Sua Flamingoes has started scouring the earth for a new experienced manager who can take them to the promised land, and ensuring their competitiveness for trophies in the local football league.
Speculation has been rife that the Serbian gaffer, Nikola Kavazovic is on the raider of the Sowa Town based outfits and he is soon to hold talks with the team to discuss a long term contract.
Speaking in an interview today Sua Flamingoes mouthpiece, Lazarus Mafa said they are currently receiving applications for the advertised coaching job. “We have advertised the position of Head Coach and we are expecting applications to start pouring in.”
Further, he confirmed that talks with Nikola have not been held. “We have not spoken to anyone at the moment but we believe we will speak to someone soon as our team attracts a lot of attention. As of the coach you are talking about we have not spoken to him, we only learnt about it from the media, particularly online publications,” he stressed.
However, the team has plenty of time to decide who will succeed Rahman Gumbo as the club’s head coach and the new coach is expected to be in the dugout early January.
“When we come back from the festive break, we believe the recruitment process will be complete and we will have a new coach by then.”
Kavazovic has been a household name in local football, from his insistently blunt character to his resolute and decisive tactics on the pitch, he is one of the good coaches to ever coach in the local league.
