To build depth and a strong future squad, the club has promoted five talented under20 players from their development side to the senior team.
The players are Boikobo Matakule, Keabetswe Phineas, Thabang Toko, Nerisoni Chisvo, and Larona Mooki. Matshameko emphasized that this move shows the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent and creating a solid foundation for success.
According to the team’s spokesperson, preparations for the next season are progressing smoothly. They noted that during the transfer window, the Club made some significant changes to the team, releasing some players and bringing in new ones. This overhaul was done with the aim of strengthening the team and improving its performance in the upcoming season.
“The club went into the market to search for a box- tobox midfielder, a left- back, a center- back, an attacking midfielder, and a striker. For the positions of left- back, midfielders, and striker, we were targeting quality foreign players to add to our squad because the team is predominantly young, and we wanted someone to guide these emerging talents develop and thrive,” he noted.
He further said that the club has approached preseason with the seriousness it deserves, and they have faced off against teams from all categories - A, B, and C. They also had the opportunity to play against BDF XI FC, Holy Ghost FC, Young Stars, Gaborone United SC, VTM FC, and even participated in a pre- season tournament in Mahalapye. Additionally, they had the privilege of playing against the Namibian powerhouse, African Stars. “We won three matches, drew two, and lost two. While we’re well- prepared for the upcoming league, we’re not fixated on immediate results, as the team is new and young. However, we’re determined to achieve a respectable position that aligns with our five- year plan,” he added.
