The jewelry pieces happen to be a neckpiece and earrings, made possible by Lucara, best known for unearthing the biggest stones in Botswana. Whether this surprise will sprinkle some good luck charm on Lesego remains to be seen.
This publication has also gathered that the jewelry pieces will be flown in from Europe closer to March 9th. As for the estimated value of that set, well, that remains a mystery. “We sat down and decided to look at what we have in abundance, which we will use to showcase Botswana diamonds,” he explained.
In other news, the official opening of the pageant was held on Tuesday at The Ashok Hotel, New Delhi. One of the highlights of the evening was the contestants showcasing the Dances of the World. Always full of life, Lesego was articulate as she introduced herself on stage. Prior to the official opening, she had given Batswana a sneak peek of what she would be wearing: adorning a traditional attire made by Tru’ D Creations.
Speaking in an interview with Style, Raletsatsi explained that in the first couple of days, they were blown away by what Lesego was doing, and continues to do. He also said that leading up to this moment, many companies were supporting the queen. Having been reigning for a while now, he also stated that they are now focusing on working with a smaller number of sponsors. Some of the companies who have been rallying behind her include CA Sales, Lucara, BITC, and the embassy, to mention a few. He also mentioned that they have partnered with companies in various beauty industries, amongst others, designers, ticketing, and makeup.
