BTTA, SACSB join hands for Table Tennis
The Botswana Table Tennis Association ( BTTA) and the Sports, Art, and Culture Society in Botswana ( SACSB) have come together to promote the development of Table Tennis in the country. The two organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding ( MOU), with BTTA President Mr Kudzanani Motswagole and SACSB President, Ms Li Xiaoyang leading the charge. This partnership is a significant step towards increasing the popularity of Table Tennis and promoting sporting excellence in Botswana.
The MOU was signed at the Avani Resort and Casino on Sunday, with the presence of His Excellency Wang Xuefeng, the Ambassador of China in Botswana, and His Worship Austin Abraham, the mayor of Gaborone City Council. Both dignitaries attended the ceremony and observed the signing of the agreement.
Tshegofatso Malepa, the Publicity Secretary of the Botswana Table Tennis Association, said that the partnership with SACSB is intended to support the growth and promotion of Table Tennis in Botswana. The MOU is a symbol of the commitment from both organizations to work together towards this goal. Malepa stated that this is a significant step for the development of the sport and that they will continue to work hard to promote table tennis in Botswana.
“Through this collaboration, we expect to see significant growth in table tennis in Botswana. We’ll be able to provide opportunities for the training and development of Table Tennis players, as well as organize tournaments and events to showcase the sport. This partnership is a crucial step towards making Table Tennis a popular and well- supported sport in Botswana,” Malepa said.
“The BTTA and SACSB are confident that this partnership will make a significant contribution to the development of sports, arts, and culture in Botswana. The signing of the MOU is a significant achievement that will help to popularize and develop table tennis in the country. We believe that this is only the beginning of great things to come for the sport,” she added.
She mentioned that the MOU between the Botswana Table Tennis Association and SACSB demonstrates the power of sports to unite people from all walks of life, regardless of their cultural or social backgrounds. In the future, they hope that this collaboration will serve as a catalyst for positive change, driving progress and prosperity in sports.
