The Botswana Karate Association ( BOKA) is gearing up to host the highly anticipated Gabs Karate Open Championships on May 4th, 2024, at the UB Indoor Sports Arena. e organizing committee has been working tirelessly to ensure that this prestigious tournament runs smoothly and provides an exceptional experience for all participants and spectators.

In a recent interview with BG Sport, Sensei Ofentse Bakwadi, a member of the Gabs Open Karate Tournament Organizing Committee, emphasized the significance of the tournament for athletes looking to showcase their abilities and elevate their standing within the karate community.
He highlighted that the Gabs Open Karate Tournament serves as a pivotal platform for athletes to engage in high- level competition, enabling them to garner well- deserved recognition and further their progression in the sport. Sensei Bakwadi underlined the fundamental objective of the Gabs Karate Open Championships, stating that it is designed to o er local athletes the opportunity to gain valuable international exposure without the nancial burden of traveling abroad.

We aim to deliver a world- class event for spectators, athletes, and stakeholders alike. Additionally, the tournament will be broadcast live on Botswana Television, providing extensive coverage and exposure,” Bakwadi said.
