RPC Data launches Capability Centres

So ware Solutions provider, RPC Data has announced intentions to rollout Capability Centres across the country.

According to the company, the initiative launched in Gaborone will expand to other areas within the country once the model becomes successful. Since incorporat­ion till the time connectivi­ty became more dependable and stable, RPC like many other organizati­ons had to hire and bring onsite expensive expat consultant­s to support its operations and deliver its projects. en came a phase when RPC outsourced some of its work to companies in India, Zimbabwe and the likes for cost e ective delivery of projects. However, since 2022, in post COVID, RPC has re- strategize­d. e RPC Data, Managing Director, Komal Rao said the Centres are instigated and encouraged by the huge talent pool that exists within the country. He said the key functions and objectives of RPC Capability Centres are shared services facility responsibl­e for providing so ware consulting, customer relationsh­ip management ( CRM), IT and finance services to the entire organizati­on. “So RPC is partnering with colleges or universiti­es in Botswana, we already have MoUs with two universiti­es in Botswana. “We are conducting campus interviews and o ering employment to students even before they graduate,” Rao said emphasizin­g that the company will leverage on the large pool of talent that graduate every year.

He said the Centres will focus on training and retooling to commensura­te with both the organizati­on’s requiremen­ts and industry trends, and become the centres of excellence in the technologi­es that the market demands.

Rao is optimistic the Centres will provide the much needed bench strength to the organizati­on and targets to become the hub for the SADC region by 2028. In addition, RPC Data says all graduates who have been employed will become certi ed in major technologi­es and products and the certi cations cost will be borne by RPC Data. “ey will be trained on leading technologi­es and solutions like Oracle, SAP, iVend Retail and Cybersecur­ity solutions and in addition to modern technologi­es including Java, Python and Apex. A comprehens­ive integrated training model is being used that supplement­s project- based training with formal and ad- hoc sessions.” Rao said RPC’s commitment to using raw talent from graduates is a testament to the potential of youth. “rough rigorous training programs tailored to the current and future needs of the industry, we transition these students into profession­als who are not just employees but contributo­rs to the growth of our nation.” With 34 years of operation, providing business so ware solutions including both ERP and Line of Business solutions, cloud solutions and digital transforma­tion solutions such as RPA automation and IoT connectivi­ty which assist with enhancing operationa­l e ciency across industries, RPC Data has a track record spanning Botswana, Zambia, Uganda, Namibia, Kenya and other countries in the region.
