Retired but not tired Living the Golden Years scheduled for May 1
Etiquette with Sammy is set to present Living the Golden Years. e event is scheduled to take place on May 1st at the House of Joss, in Broadhurst. Living the Golden Years seeks to celebrate those who are retired as well as those who are in the process of retiring, especially women.
According to Sammy Matlhagela, the founder of Etiquette with Sammy, retirement marks a major shift, a chance to reimagine what the next stage of life looks like for many. She explains that they are hosting this event with the hope that it will inspire many, and serve as a platform for connections and discovery.
“Living the Golden years is a specially designed event aimed at celebrating your journey and giving you a revitalized boost and fresh perspective on this exciting chapter of your life,” she explains. She further says that on the day of the event, which will run from morning until noon, they will have an
array of speakers who will touch on various topics ranging from nances, wellness, business, social relationships, and that the audience will also have a chance to interact with the speakers. Some of the speakers include Tefo Kabo ( Next Career: Retirement Specialist), Tsompie Mokaila ( Tsompie’s Tea Room), Bonkamile Odirile ( Performing Arts, and actress in most of the local tv and radio dramas), as well as Imelda Molokomme ( Women rights activist and writer), and lastly Jemima Othman ( Wellness Specialist).
“e objective of the event is to give hope, encourage and remind our lovely women that life does not end at retirement. It is another stage of life that you ought to enjoy,” she explains. Topics of the day will include Retired but not tired, Passion to purpose, A woman makes a plan, living the golden years. Tickets are selling for P500, and highlights of the day will include refreshments, inspiring connections, thoughtful gifts, as well as exclusive tips and advice.
