Rory and Elize Bennett, owners, Limpopo River Lodge

“I purchased the original farm in about 1986, and added three more over the next 15 years. Over a number of years, we – my wife Elize now owns the farms with me – got rid of the cattle.

“Wildlife and Peace Parks built an electrified game fence from Northern Tuli Game Reserve down to our farms, along what we call the ‘backline’ extending through to the Zanzibar border post.

“The fence is 25 kilometres from the Limpopo River and separates the area’s cattle farms from the game farms – although there is still one farmer this side of the fence farming with cattle.

“We have in the last number of years been very excited to have lion, wild dog and many other species move down from Northern Tuli Game Reserve onto our farms.”
