Choppies launches the great birthday bonanza
Botswana’s supermarket giant Choppies on Wednesday launched their annual birthday bonanza which this year goes by the name ‘the Choppies Great Birthday Bonanza’ and it will run from 16th October 2020 to 8th January 2021.
The Competition was officially launched by the Choppies CEO Ramachandran Ottapathu at the Choppies Innovation Hub in Gaborone where he expressed excitement for this year’s birthday bonanza saying it unlike all the other ones from the past.
Ottapathu pointed out that the competition has been growing over the years since its inception in 2003 when they consolidated all their businesses and changed to name Choppies which makes it the 17th Choppies Birthday bonanza.
“To participate in the competition all you have to do is purchase featured products in the competition it does not matter how much you spend and you can stand a chance to win a brand new car or your share in cash prizes” Ottapathu remarked. He pointed out that having the media’s at the launch was also part of creating mileage for the competition as it will also allow more business partners to join in as the competition progresses.
The completion is valued at P4 Million which includes the 5 Toyota Hilux bakkies, 2500 gift vouchers every month end and P15 000 at the grand finale to 89 winners which is a higher than last year’s birthday bonanza which Ottapathu emphasized is the point of holding the bonanza every year as a way to give back to their customers. The cars are each valued at P 175 000 with the balance for the cars being paid in cash. Ottapathu further said he is happy that they can make a contribution in the lives of customers through the bonanza. The competition is available at all the Choppies stores around the country.
