The theme of the virtual congress was, “Realigning Teaching and Learning in Response to the Covid19 pandemic “.

The covid pandemic had forced Bosetu to resort to a virtual Congress to reduce movements from red zones, while at the same time following the covid protocols of a maximum of 50 in a meeting. After every two hours the congress would pause for covid break, in accordance with the laid down covid protocols.

According to Bosetu Secretary general Tobokani Rari putting together the virtual congress had been very costly for the union, as they had to spend on technology to enable the smooth running of the virtual congress.

Guest speaker professor Kalusopa, from the university of Namibia, performed his key note address from Windhoek via video call connection. After missing to hold the congress last year due to covid19 pandemic, Bosetu resolved to hold the virtual congress to fulfill the trade union’s constitution, especially the election of office bearers.
