OKAVANGO DIAMOND COMPANY BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dr Gape Kaboyakgosi has over 20 years’ experience working as a policy analyst / policy advisor as well as in education administration. As a policy analyst, Dr Kaboyakgosi had a role in the design, review, and formulation of policies in multiple sectors including anticorruption, transport, waste management, fiscal policy, education, and others. His roles include Vice Chancellor at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (2018-2021), previously Deputy Vice Chancellor at ABM University, and Senior Research Fellow at the Botswana Institute for Development Policy Analysis. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Policy from the Australian National University, a master’s degree in Public Administration from Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Botswana. He currently serves in the board of directors of the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority, and the Competition and Consumer Tribunal.

Maleho Mothibatsela is Chief Investment Officer and Founder of Blackthread Capital. He has over 23 years of experience in the financial services sector primarily in institutional; high net-worth investment management and corporate advisory. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked for Robert Fleming; JP Morgan (Europe) Limited and the Imara Group, as analyst; sector equity specialist and ultimately progressing to executive management from 2005. Mr Mothibatsela holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Botswana. He has served in several fiduciary capacities over his career; including, Botswana Public Officers Medical Aid Scheme and Fleming Asset Management Botswana. Mr Mothibatsela currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pula Medical Aid Fund.
Mmetla Masire is the newly appointed Managing Director for Okavango Diamond Company. Mr Masire has over 30 years’ experience in the diamond industry. He joins ODC, from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology & Energy Security where he served as Permanent Secretary. Some of the senior positions he has held include being the CEO of Water Utilities Corporation, Debswana Group Engineering Manager, Orapa Power Station Project Manager, and Mine General Manager. Mr Masire holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical & Electronics from the University of Wales. Mr Masire has served in several boards including De Beers, Debswana, Diamond Trading Company Botswana, Minerals Development Company Botswana, etc. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sir Ketumile Masire Foundation and the President of Botswana Cycling Association.
KGAOTSANG MATTHEWS Non- Executive Director
Kgaotsang Matthews is a legal practitioner with over 19 years’ experience in mainly real estate property transactions, corporate/commercial law, estates, and regulatory and compliance work. She is a Partner and Co-Founder of Moribame Matthews Attorneys. She started her legal career as State Council at the Attorney General’s Chambers. She then moved to private practice and now heads the Real Estate Property Department at Moribame Matthews. She holds a Bachalor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Botswana and is a member of the Bar (High Court of Botswana). She serves as Vice-Chairperson of the Special Economic Zones Authority, Board Member of Kgare Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd, Trustee of the Botswana Book Center and is the Secretary General of Botswana Swimming Sport Association.

SPENCER KAISARA Non- Executive Director
Spencer Kaisara is the Managing Director of ChemServe Botswana. He has over 35 years of experience as a metallurgist in the mining industry. Prior to the ChemServe Botswana assignment, Mr Kaisara was a Debswana sponsored graduate who worked for Debswana Diamond Company for over 25 years. He rose through the ranks from graduate metallurgist to Consulting Metallurgist and Group Manager (Technical Services). Mr Kaisara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mineral Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK. Mr Kaisara has served in several boards including CEDA and BIUST Founding Council. He is on the Engineers Registration Board as a member of the Mining Professional Assessment Committee.
