WUC CONDUCTS HYDRAULIC TEST ON THE MASAMA PIPELINE

Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) is undertaking a preliminary water tightness testing of the Masama 100km pipeline. The process requires filling up water and pressuring the pipeline from Masama wellfields to Mmamashia Treatment plant. During this exercise, there will be water leaks in some sections which fails hydraulic tests and some water will be flushed out in some sections of the pipeline, which is standard practise of cleaning the pipe.

The Corporation assures the public that this is a normal Quality Management Process in the construction of pipelines to ensure that a newly constructed pipeline is watertight as per set requirements. Masama 100km pipeline will be ready for commissioning once this process is complete by the end of this month.
