Cresta endorses Uhuru TeamBW 2021
Leasing tourism and hospitality giant,Cresta Marakanelo Limited (CML) has endorsed Uhuru TeamBW 2021 which will be going on a Mount Kilimanjaro Expedition on September 30, 2021 in a bid to sensitise anti-rape campaign.
“Uhuru TeamBW has our full support on this journey they are embarking on raising awareness on the impact of rape as it is aligned to CML Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy of Environment, Education, and Women and Children. We did not hesitate to work and assist them the moment they approached and told us about this project,” said CML Group Marketing Manager Malebogo Sesinyi. Uhuru TeamBW 2021 is a group of individuals who came together to raise awareness about the effects of rape on the mental health of survivors. On this current project, CML has sponsored Uhuru TeamBW 2021 with accommodation and working space as they prepare for Summit Mount Kilimanjaro.
Sesinyi further said they will continue being a supportive force on this campaign as this is a concerning issue in the country over the years. The hotel, tourism, and hospitality phenomenon have assisted less fortunate families by donating over 3,000 face masks to Matlapana Primary School in Maun, Mahube Primary School in Francistown and Chobe Community Junior Secondary School in Kasane. “Community development is one of our major priorities, we always ensure that we play a role in developing and supporting various community projects.
Community development is important because it provides the foundation a city builds off to improve the lives of its citizens. It creates strong, diverse communities that can attract and keep talent, start and grow businesses, and overcome issues that arise,” concluded Sesinyi.
Additionally, in 2016, the Cresta Group received a bronze award from the green grading company, Green Tourism UK, for providing eco-friendly accommodation.
The notion of green tourism has advanced over the years but it initially represented small-scale tourism that encompassed visiting natural sites while minimising environmental impacts. The aforementioned is clear, irrefutable evidence that CML is wholly invested in serving the youth, community, economy, and the environment.
