BOTSWANA SAVINGS BANK (BSB) CONTINUES TO INCREASE ITS FOOTPRINT COUNTRYWIDE
s part of the Bank's continued commitment to provide banking services and to contribute significantly towards financial inclusion, Botswana Savings Bank officially opened Molepolole Branch on the 7th of August 2021. Speaking at the opening, Kgosi Lawrence Mhaladi of Bakwena expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to have the bank in his community. He further noted that the strategically located branch will create great convenience for the community to access financial services.
The BSB Board Chairperson, Mr Kealeboga Molelowatladi reassured the Molepolole community that this is a testament of the bank’s mandate to support the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development financial inclusion roadmap and strategy, which lays out the national priorities for the enhancement of financial inclusion in Botswana.
“I am proud to note that the Molepolole branch opened its doors to the public in June 2021 adding to the total number of four BSB standalone branches, four co-branded branches with Botswana Post and two smart branches,” Molelowatladi highlighted.
He also pointed out that the bank was recently appointed by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to disburse social benefits for people with disabilities, destitutes,old age pensioners and World War II veterans. Molelowatladi further cited that Molepolole is one of the regions that the bank will be servicing this client base through the scheme.
The BSB CEO, Mr Nixon Marumoloa urged the government institutions in the areas where the Bank is represented to support the Bank's growth by fostering relationships and using the services offered by the bank. "We firmly believe that such partnerships will go a long way in providing value for our clients and ensuring the sustainable growth of Botswana's economy," Marumoloa noted. He assured the audience of BSB's commitment towards delivering satisfactory service and addressing various customer needs.
