Bame Mojelane, whose stage name is Bam Joz,i is a 13-year-old from Otse who has released four Amapiano singles.

In an interview with Arts & Culture, he said he ventured into the music industry this year around March after being inspired by a young Amapiano artiste who is the same age as him called Rethabile from South Africa.

“Whenever he is on stage I go crazy. I enjoy watching him. I started developing more interest in singing and dancing Amapiano. I have released four singles namely; Monate ke Monate, Sdutla, Amaemployment and Ga Le Itse Nna Ke Tshegang. I released all of them this year,” he said.

Bam Jozi’s first single was released around April and the others were released later in August this year.

This talented young singer added that he wrote all of his songs. He also explained that people seemed to be

impressed with his talent looking at his age. Even though he is still new to the music industry and not yet well known, he pointed out that he was trying his level best to work hard and release more good music that will be well known both locally and internationally. He further pointed out that his beat and audible voice make him stand out from many local talented artistes.

“I do face challenges as I am about to sit for my PSLE this year. I attend school even on weekends and I don’t have enough time for practice. I managed to release four singles which is my achievement so far. I also managed to go and register the first song at CIPA and at COSBOTS. I opened a file and delivered the CD at Botswana Television (Btv). I am still working on reaching out to the public by consulting other stakeholders for advice,” he said.
