Smomothela
Lone Tebeke known as Jazzlyn Tiah has released a new song with Dada Kavino and Tiller Mo called Smomothela. Dkbeatz at Hyper Morning Studios produced the song. The three wrote the song. In an interview with Arts & Culture,
Jazzlyn Tiah said they collectively sat down and came up with the song concept.
He explained that the song was about a husband who just lost a wife and was left with a daughter who resemblances her mother in every way. “The message of the song touched so many people because it is something that we get to see everyday.
People really love it and relate well with it. So far, it has played on local radio stations. We have been to Flavadome, Mokaragana and Blac for TV performances. In my songs, I write about things that happen to people so it becomes easy for them to relate with my music,” he said.
Jazzlyn Tiah is a rapper and songwriter. He started doing music six years ago where he used to do ‘trap’ then later changed to Afro Pop when he met Dada Kavino in 2019.
He said growing up, he fell in love with music. He added that he used be in a school choir and used to listen to motswako back when ATI and Noello made music together.
Moreover, he explained that being an independent artist was very difficult so music needed a lot of budget especially when it comes to marketing and advertising. He also pointed out that his song titled ‘Mama You Worth It,’ was on number three on Taffy Raw Top 20. He said on the same song he featured Mickii whose Nigerian.
“Promoters are here to make money so they book according to whose trending so when you are still new it is a disadvantage but we do not give up. We host our own shows to make money because we got families to feed too.
I would like to tell upcoming artistes to never give up a fight for what they love and try by all means to be consistent with their work,” he said. This young artist also has an EP titled Mama You Worth.
He thanked his team for making things possible. These include Dj Tuli Faded Shots Media who does photography, Msico Shooter her cinematographer and a producer known as Wouzbeatz.
