- CORRESPONDENT

Local RnB artiste, Tafnaz, has kicked off the first quarter of the year by teasing his fans with his imminent third studio album, ‘Situationship 3’. After performing his unreleased songs online, the Zimbabwean-born artiste recently staged a surprise live band performance at Dejavu Lounge in a sold-out event.

During his performance, the talented vocalist did several songs from his upcoming album, which seemed to be favourites amongst the audience. The upcoming album is due for release at the end of April. His latest single featuring ATI titled, Kitchen, is currently rocking the airwaves.

“I have been working on new material for the past two years. I decided to take my time with this third album because I wanted to create some mature sound. RnB is supposed to be a quality genre that touches people in different ways.

I had to play around with different sounds and create one that will be relevant to everyone across the globe. The RnB sound has evolved over the years. The album is dropping at the end of this month. I am hoping that it will also add impetus to the local RnB landscape,” said the dreadlocked musician.

On the latest album, the artiste says he worked with producers such as Prince the Royal DJ, Ndabezinhle and Bangu. The album also features celebrated artists such as ATI and Scar who previously expressed excitement in working on the project.

The 2017 Yarona FM Music Awards (YAMAS) nominee stated that he is working with a team that will make the album successful in ensuring that it reaches the masses and he is also planning on embarking on a nationwide tour that will be followed by a regional tour.

“My team has been good to me over the past two years. We have a strategic plan to distribute the album across the region and through the help of the Internet, we will take it worldwide. Through this, I hope to rub shoulders with my international counterparts and get to do some work with them”, he said.

During his recent performance, the RnB maestro belted out some jams, which the audience quickly fell in love with. The live band added impetus to the experience, which also showed how Tafnaz’s music has matured over the years.

Born Tafadzwa Nazare, Tafnaz has in the previous years released albums such as Situashionship 1 and 2 that have earned him nominations for local music awards. The musician is also a talented photographer that has done campaigns for local and regional brands.
