Cobre renews licences

- PAULINE DIKUELO Staff Writer

Cobre, an Australian mineral exploration company, has announced that Triprop Holdings has received notification of the renewal of the five exploration licences subject to a binding earn-in agreement with Kalahari Metals. The five exploration licences are renewed for an additional two years until September 30, 2024 in accordance with a letter from the Department of Mines in Botswana. Cobre said the renewal of the exploration licences has come at a significant time for the company as they commence an aggressive exploration programme in Botswana. The renewal cements the belt-scale opportunity provided by the extensive land package in the Kalahari Copper Belt and will support an additional exploration pipeline of targets for future drill testing. ‘The efficiencies shown during this renewal process once again reinforce Botswana as a Tier 1 friendly mining jurisdiction in a country that is a pleasure doing business in’.
