Simsa Gas giving back to the community
Simsa Gas believes in giving back to the community it operates in and Managing Director, Mathew Simon has always done just that.“From the beginning, we were giving donations to vulnerable children and elderly homes without seeking any recognition for it.
We are still do- ing that but the government requires proof of Corporate Social Responsibility. We also distribute blankets every winter just for personal satisfaction.
God has given us the opportunity to share with the downtrodden and marginalised,” - ÃÌ>Ìið à vwVi Ì iÀi >Ài £ä vÀ>i` ViÀÌwcates of appreciation from all the donations made since the government started requiring proof.
Simon reveals that during COVID-19, three Simsa trucks delivered food hampers to different villages.
The company has also provided sponsorship to private schools for students who had not done well in the public school system and has supported employees’ children who were struggling with their studies. Simon recalls an employee in Palapye whose child was not doing well until the company brought the child to Gaborone to study at a subsidiary secondary school.
People with needs usually approach the company for assistance and the company determines if the need is genuine and assists accordingly.
