Gabs Festive Shandis welcomes fest season in style
With the festive season already lurking, Shockwave Entertainment and Keys To The City will hold Gabs Festive Shandis on December 3, 2022 at Fairground Holdings.
In an interview with Arts & Culture, the event organiser Mpho Zane Dinoko popularly known as Zaine Aftamath said the purpose of the festival was to welcome the festive season in style. He further explained that Gaborone had not had a big festive event in a long time and therefore he saw an opportunity to explore.
The event will have both international and local popular artists such as Sha Sha, Costa Titch, Shekhinah, and Master KG alongside local heavyweights such as Charma Gal, Amaar Brown, La Timmy, Ban-T, Veezo View, Hey Nyenah, T. H. A. B. O and MC Theo. “We have opted to use Security Systems and All Night Security and the security will be heavy. We promise people the safest event ever and we are going to deliver all the artists we promise and the best festive experience. This is the first edition of this event and we plan to host it annually. Our future plans are to improve customer experience by coming up with new activities and concepts to enhance it,” he stated.
“This is not the first time I have organised an event. I have been doing events for a very long time notably; Barolong Farms Festive Fiesta which is my annual event and I have done so many collaborations such as Khaya Lifestyle Picnic, Roll Up Festival and others,” he said.
Like any other promoter, he said he faced lack of sponsorship, lack of affordable venues in the city and having to compete with so many other events happening on the same day. Tickets are sold at P300 early bird double, standard P200, VIP P1,500 and they are available at all Spar Stores and Webtickets outlets country wide.
