University of Botswana Chancellors timeline

Following the passing on of the fifth University of Botswana Chancellor, Linah Mohohlo in 2021 The President Dr. M. E. K. Masisi

appointed the first Botswana woman Ambassador to the United States, Tebelelo Mazile Seretse.

Seretse’s term started on 1st of September 2021 and will expire on 31st August 2026.

UB Chancellor is a cappointed by the President of Botswana and holds office for five years with eligibility for one more term of five years.

As ceremonial head of the university the Chancellor is its ambassador, promoting goodwill and mobilising resources. The Chancellor also presides over ceremonial assemblies of the University, such as presenting awards of the University among other duties.
