Daniel Kablan Duncan Designated successor

The Africa Report - - COUNTRY FOCUS -

As a Christian from the south, former prime minister and PDCI member Daniel Kablan Duncan was a perfect political choice for President Alassane Ouattara, a Muslim northerner, when he chose the country’s first vice-president in January. Critics point out that the vice-president does not have much power, but some Kablan Duncan backers say that the position will offer great opportunities when the succession race opens up ahead of elections in 2020.
