Sun Sports: What sport code are you involved in?
Caiphus: Karate.
Sun Sports: When did you get involved in Karate?
Caiphus: I started Karate back in 1995.
Sun Sports: What attracted you to Karate? Caiphus: My brother inspired me to join Karate as he also liked it. I started winning my fights and Kata, that is how I got attached to the sport.
Sun Sports How has Karate changed your life?
Caiphus: I am a disciplined athlete because of Karate and also it humbled me to appreciate all. My financial life has changed for the better because the allowance and incentives we receive enable me to provide for my family.
Sun Sports. What advice can you give young people who want to get involved in the sport?
Caiphus: Use your body in a positive way, play the sport, perform well and get paid by sport.
Sun Sports. Which famous athlete do you look up to as a role model?
Caiphus: Rafael Aghayev of Azerbaijan.
Sun Sports: What is the secret to your success?
Caiphus: I respect all, I am not bigger than anyone and I take my trainings very seriously.
Sun Sports. What has been the saddest moment in your sporting career?
Caiphus: I got a fracture in my leg during the final team selection and that denied me a chance to compete in Russia, Mozambique and Australia.
Sun Sports: If you were to change one thing about your sport, what would it be?
Caiphus: I would bring back the strict Senseis who competed years back and empower them to be instructors so that they can enforce discipline on the young generation. Every student with no discipline will be suspended whether a good performer or not. Sun Sports: Where do you see yourself in five years?
Caiphus: I am not really sure, age is catching up with me, if not instructing something will come up.

Greatest fear: Being punished by God for all my wrong doings.
