There are many reasons why a personal trainer is crucial in achieving fitness goals, from weight loss-based, sports-driven to athletic purposes. The advent of the Covid-19 pandemic and the national health protocols around social distancing, challenged the fitness trainer Chyna Mokaila to be creative and innovative to reach out his clients.

The CMFit Virtual fitness program idea recently came to mind, and it proved to be a sustainable solid plan that would see him continue his work with or without lockdown and Covid-19.

With the virtual training, one gets to train at the comfort of their home with consistency and customised specialised training plan.

The CMFit program caters for all demographics: young, old, female, male, fit, unfit, and athletic. The program runs throughout the year, all you have to do after your fitness test and consultation is to show up, feel and get inspired. “The workouts are meant to be friendly for home training so we use a lot of body workouts and a few functional and portable, easy to carry equipment such as dumbbells, kettlebells, mini trampoline Matt and skipping rope, mini resistance bands. Most of The CMFit workouts are based on using your own body weight with a lot of compound movements and high energy demanding routines,” Mokaila said this week. The trainer best known for working with local top football teams highlighted the importance of nutrition in getting results and in general wellbeing, as it reduces risks of non-communicable diseases and increases energy levels to perform better. “About 70-80 percent of your 100 percent results come from your nutrition while working out only contributes 20-30 percent of your 100 percent results. You need to fuel your body with the right nutrition and calories for you to perform better. The right amount of calorie deficit daily will get you better performance in your workouts and daily lifestyle demands, it will also get you better results quickly,” he said. According to Mokaila, there is no other plan to stay fit, healthy and safe than Virtual training with CMFit as COVID-19 has brought depression and unhealthy habits due to lockdowns. Mokaila was first discovered by a lady named Florence Radisweng, who mentored and guided him to become the ambitious master trainer he is today. It started with a qualification as an aerobics instructor/Group exercise to Personal trainer, Sports conditioning coach, sports Psychologist, and a Football specific Coach. His passion and ambition led him to creating his own Fitness Brand and company called ‘Chyna’s kataBo’ which was later rebranded to ‘CMFit’. The aim has always been to get his brand out there and for people to realize the importance of having an active and healthy lifestyle. He previously collaborated with the BTV Morning Fitness Show and Yarona FM’s Fatboy Challenge. He has also worked with the Botswana senior men’s and women football national teams, karate senior national team as their conditioning coach. Internationally he has worked with Essences Events (From the US), where he got to travel around Africa promoting active lifestyle and health. Currently, Mokaila is the Head of Football Specific Conditioning Coach for Township Rollers FC.
