TSOTSO THE PSL SILVERWARE TALISMAN
...As Ngele and TTM go for Nedbank Cup final
In local football circles sensational midfielder Mogakolodi ‘Tsotso’ Ngele is highly regarded as one of the best football players the country has ever produced. The left footed and prolific midfielder continues to both surprise and represented Botswana football very well in the fiercely competitive South Africa Premier Soccer League (PSL).
No stranger to winning cups in and exceeding expectations in the PSL, the Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila player is expected to write another chapter in his illustrious football career when he play in the highly revered Nedbank Cup final for the first time. Ngele and TTM pulled a stunning upset when they knocked out his former employers Mamelodi Sundowns in an intense and sensational semifinal penalty shootout this past weekend at the Lodtus Versed Stadium.
Ngele’s TTM side is expected to lock horns with Chippa United on May 8, in the final of the of the Nedbank competition, at a venue yet to be announced. The sleek and nimble footed midfielder will look to add a Nedbank cup medal to his collection of medals as it remains the only cup in the PSL he is yet to win. . Ngele experienced his best football years with Platinum Stars, winning two cup finals(Telkom Knockout and MTN 8)in the same season, he also won two Absa Premiership titles, the CAF Champions League, Telkom Knockout with Mamelodi Sundowns and another league title with Bidvest Wits.
However, the former Township Rollers players has over the years seen his career in the PSL taking a slump but he has always been determined to pick up the pieces producing a stellar performance at every club that he has played for. Thus far the taciturn Zebras star has had short spells at Black
Leopards, Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United.
At the peak of his career, the national team regular made a name for himself, giving some of the PSL giants a terrifying time. Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs were constantly troubled by his left foot, scoring several goals against them and denying them several trophies.
It remains to be seen if Ngele will help the Nedbank rookies Tshakhuma to their maiden trophy in the PSL and if he can add a seventh major trophy to his name and become Botswana’s most decorated player in the PSL
