It’s impossible to avoid them,for decades we have been surrounded by sweet and fatty foods and the body has not been dealing well with this eating habits but what about the brain. Could our mental health, our moods and our brain abilities suffer from the wrong kind of nutrition?

We now know that junk food is making us fat and shrinking our brains. Brain researcher­s have joined the dining table to study the effects of our eating habits on or brains. Foods that are high in sugar and fats in the long run it leads to changes in the part of the brain that is involved in memory.

Habitual intake of food high in sugar and fat results in reprogrami­ng of the brain, in short our brain is affected by what’s on our plates.

It all starts with our very first meals before birth. The brain is built during pregnancy and how it functions later on it depends on the expectant mother’s diet over the nine months.

EMOTIONAL HEALTH

In alternativ­e science which I practice a number of consequenc­es of poor nutrition during gestation period have been known long time .Mothers who ate junk food ,processed food ,sweet drinks ,snacks during their pregnancy their children tend to have behaviors like aggression, anger ,tantrums .The mother diet affects the brain health of the baby.

The children diet is important and dependent from the mother’s diet. Those who eat too much junk and processed food or not enough of the health foods, will have anxiety, sadness, anger aggression even nightmares.

Junk food is often low on essential nutrients so it leaves the body especially nerve cells lacking. Children who have been deprived omega 3 fatty acids shows anxiety and stress ,omega 3 fatty acids are called good fats due their benefits to the heart and arteries ,without omega 3 fatty acids their brain does not develop and work normally .They are needed because the brain grey matter is 90% fat which cannot produce its self.

The body does not produce omega 3 fatty acids so we have to ingests it ,it has to come from the diet ,oily fish ,nuts, vegetable oil and organic meat are the main source of omega 3 fatty acids for humans and this foods become scarce in industrial­ized world hence poor brain health for modern human family.
