Lucky Sephiri, a gospel artiste based in Tsabong, released a new single titled ‘Kea Mo Rata’ this week. Sephiri said the song is all about how he loves and honours God.

Through the song, he encourages people to always have faith and trust in God at all times, regardless of the odds they face in life. “The song explains that it does not matter how long one’s problems exist in life… in most cases, God will come to rescue,” he said. The single was recorded by Thabo Kgasawane at Touch Records in Gaborone.

Sephiri said the message of the single give advises to listeners for them to seek strength in God and ask him for guidance in life and learn to stand up for themselves. The song continues to encourage listeners to do whatever they are doing with pride, passion and also being open minded for criticism because they make one to grow positively.

Sephiri, who is wheel chair bound, shared that he was not born disabled until he was in Junior School level and got paralysed. He said he had not allowed this to hold him back from living his best life ever. He further said that he had not gone into music by chance, emphasising that gospel music is his calling, although he hastened to add that his disability had hampered his progress. He said it was a stressful situation considering that academically he was gifted and he had dreams for the future but they had faded away when he lost his mobility as a teenager. “As a musician, my disability hinders my progress a lot because it is difficult for me to go around selling my music and promoters are not patient with me: they only want to work with big artists,” he said.

Sephiri however said the challenges would not deter his efforts, and concluded that Batswana should brace themselves for this spirited anointed single and support his music journey.
