HEARTY DUMPLINGS FOR A SOUL FOOD TREAT

This dish is great as it is also perfect for those who don’t eat meat – you can prepare the dumplings with just gravy or soup and vegetables. Regardless of your taste in food, dumplings are always a winner. They also have that appeal that reminds most people of home and soul food, don’t you think?Many people can’t seem to get the perfect dumpling – it either comes out too hard or too soft and chewy like bubblegum.
Below is a recipe for fluffy dumpling that is easy to make.
Ingredients
*Four cups of flour
*A tablespoon of baking powder *A tablespoon of salt
*Two cups of water
*Two eggs
Method:
Combine the flour, powder and salt and then make a well in the centre of the bowl. Combine the eggs and milk slowly, making sure that you are mixing the ingredients well. Then pour the combination into the well in the flour, and then slowly stir with a fork until everything is blended.
On the stove, bring gravy or soup of your choice to boil for ten minutes. Once you have mixed the flour ingredients drop tablespoons of the flour into the pot.
Cook uncovered for about ten minutes. And then turn over, and cook for another 10-20 minutes, this time covered.
The gravy will give the dumplijng some juice and make it more delectable.
