THE ISAAC MAKWALA QUESTION THAT WAS MISUNDERSTOOD

-

Magatwe a re Isaac Makwala has asked Sports Minister Tumiso Rakgare a million pula question somewhere on social media and everyone has misinterpreted it.This of course is on the backdrop of Makwala and his mates’ performance at the IAAF World Relays where they won a race that qualified them for competing at the Olympic Games later this year. We hope the minister did not misinterpret the question as all the other lot did, and we await his answer which we suspect may have been answered by the time you read this. Kana some people who are quick to write expert opinions on social media are actually too slow to understand things – just as they failed to understand gore all that Makwala wanted to know from the minister was why the relay team was not promised any money for qualifying for the bigger games as was done ahead of the Zebras game against Zimbabwe who were promised a lot of money if they qualified for the AFCON finals. Remember when the Zebras left for Francistown to play the game, the minister o ba laetse, wished them well, and promised them money. And so Makwala only questioned why the same was not accorded the athletics team – gore uhu, go riana tona o a itse fa re le kwano? Kana rona we thought ga o itse because ga wa re laela. So re solofele madi ka gore we have qualified? People must go back to that Makwala’s question and understand it. He never said they self-sponsored!!! Mister Minister, because we are writing this piece on Monday, we hope by the time you read it on Wednesday you would have given an answer to Makwala
