Caiphus publishes a book called, The Girl Code
Writer Ontiretse Baipidi has released his new book titled Gabanyalelwe, which will be launched next month on the 21st in Gaborone.
Baipidi recently told Vibe that the fascinating novel is a Setswana 78 pages book, which will provoke thought and invoke dialogue amongst readers to selfintrospect on the issues of Christianity and culture in the modern world. “These issues are often not delved into as they are deemed sensitive by nature. However, it is critical to look at these issues from different perceptions and better understand how they impact on our lives,” he said.
Baipidi said that the book explains some common myths and misconceptions in our society, that have long been the stumbling block in the progress of lives of people. “After reading the book, the mist of contradictions will be cleared and the ball will be in the court for everyone to choose the right path in their lives, and make informed decisions,” he said.
He also noted that the book motivates readers to believe in themselves all the time, adding that perseverance brings success. The book, which was published by Poetic Blood Publishers, is already on sale.
Upcoming author Phenyo Caiphus has published a new book titled The Girl Code. Caiphus recently told Vibe that the book is a must read for everyone out there as it was written to bring to book the picture of changes surrounding us, modern life as we know it and more importantly it covers hot topics of today that will appeal to both intellect and thought. Caiphus said that the central message of the book is the perception that both modern men and women portray in daily basis such as family dynamics,gender issue,feminism,dating and just the general view of morality and how everyone else view it.
He shared that during the course of the pandemic there have been lots and lots of gender-based violence cases, misinformation, misogyny, mental health issues and other related misfortunes, so it was then that he realised that our world has changed more than we think and so he decided to write The Girl Code in order to paint how he perceives these changes, and more importantly where it will possibly end up.
“The Girl Code is a series book. It originally comes in form of a screen play which follows lives of four young women and men working at a local university. Season 1 documents mostly the characters, their careers ,love life and it introduce us to the main topics which the book is all about,” he said.
