Young Prince gets nod of approval from Mzansi’ Boity Thulo

PASSIONATE: The young man hopes to one day finally hit the big time

Passionate musician, actor and budding fashion designer, Young Prince, is soaring in South Africa thanks to the support of legendary South African rapper, actress and television presenter, Boity Thulo who has taken him under wings. Young Prince’ dream to break it into the entertainm­ent industry, started as a dream as he would fantasize appearing on the South African soapies, and he has eventually made it after hard work. He has appeared as an extra on Generation­s-The Legacy, Muvhango, The Queen, Rhythm City and 7 delaan. As a survivor of depression, he admits that he saw the world sinking around him when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, and there were lockdowns in Botswana and South Africa, where he does most of his hustles. “I was so scared because all I could imagine was people dying, losing their jobs, especially in the entertainm­ent industry. I had already lost hope,” he said. Nonetheles­s, he kept his cards checked all the time and found a way to keep pushing to achieve his dreams.

Having recognised his ambition and drive, Boity Thulo, who he met sometime ago, was inspired his hard work and did a lot of mentoring for him, as she supported his dreams, he said. “She believes that I great potential and says that I am an example that hard work pays, and dreams could be achieved,” he said. Young Prince further says that Thuli’s emotional support and financial support has really played a big role in his life and kept his sanity during this difficult times of Covid19. “Boity has been a mother figure to me, in a remarkable way, as she would take charge of my food vouchers, transport fare, clothing outfits and above all, she always reminded me to believe in myself and do better all the time,” he said. He currently has a clothing line and tells Vibe that Thulo helped her put together his designs. He is of the view that it is not easy to get such help in a foreign country, hence he remains humbled and encourages other young people to follow their dreams. He anticipate­s appearing on Uzalo soon, and shares that his vision is to have a full time role in one of the big soapies on Mzansi television.
