PEARL CUTTEN SPREADS HOPE THROUGH NEW SINGLE, ALRIGHT
Denmark-based singer, Pearl Cutten, has released a new song titled Alright. This is her third single from her EP project, ‘Fragments of my Soul’. The project theme is based on Pearl’s personal inner growth and spiritual journey. “The merging of the inner world and outer world, importance of looking within and accepting life challenges as part of growth play a major role in the overall theme. Each song has Its own story and timeline but selfempowerment and courage binds them all together,” she said.
Cutten told Vibe that Alright is inspired by the courage she has had to find and use to keep on going on after so many setbacks in her life. She said it is also an appreciation of the small things that make life valuable and bring joy. “This song is a celebration of life in its highs and lows knowing that everything will be Alright,” she said.
Cutten explained that the project ‘Fragments of my Soul’ has another dimension to it which explores the Soul genre bringing light to the different styles within Soul music genre that has her and her own interpretation of soulfulness. “The first Release ‘The Pain in You’ is a classic Soul track and second Release ‘You are beautiful’ has a lot of Pop/Indie elements but with very soulful vocals, while ‘Alright’ is a feel good, danceable R’n’B/Soul track which will leave the listener hopeful and in the mood for a good time,” she said.
Born in Botswana to a native Motswana mother and an Indian father, Pearl moved to Denmark with her when she was 14 years old to live with her Danish stepfather.
She originally started making music as a teenager to combat loneliness but soon overtook her ambitions as a dancer and actor, as her chosen calling in life. As music started occupying most of her creative time, she developed different styles from R&B to soul to jazz, house and afro. After she moved to Aarhus, Denmark she still maintained strong links to her African roots, the people of Botswana taking Pearl to their hearts despite often being thousands of miles away. Now settled in Copenhagen, Denmark, she has perfected her Soul, Afro and Jazz style and has regularly performs shows around the country and at specially invited events such as fashion award shows in London and other countries.
