FNBB MAKES HEADWAY IN KYC COMPLIANCE
Over the past months, FNBB embarked on a KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance drive, by encouraging both its business and retail customers to submit required KYC documents and update their details. The Bank has made headway in this process as most customers are now compliant.
FNBB would like to thank all customers who have updated their KYC details. It is, however, regrettable that some customer accounts have had to undergo freezing due to KYC noncompliance. We regret the inconvenience that this has caused to the affected customers. The Bank has put in place measures such as increased frontline and back-office personnel to assist customers who wish to submit their KYC compliance documents either at FNBB branches or via the KYC compliance mailing address kyc@fnbbotswana.co.bw to ensure a seamless and hassle-free customer experience. We can confirm that once customers have submitted all the required information and/or documents, their accounts will be activated within 24 hours.
As a financial institution, FNBB is required to comply with set regulations that have been enacted as a measure to prevent financial crime, such as financing terrorism and money laundering, among other things, by ensuring that customer accounts held with us are KYC compliant. We therefore believe that KYC com
pliance can only be achieved through collaboration with our customers. That’s why it is important for us to regularly engage with our customers to encourage them to share the necessary KYC information, whether in person, via email or SMS communication. We encourage customers to be on the lookout for KYC refresher notifications, which are periodically issued by the Bank, to ensure that the necessary KYC compliance documents are timeously submitted to the Bank, as and when they are required.
