The long anticipated Makhadzi One Woman show is underway, and the Tlokweng community is excited to host this much anticipated event, which would be held at Royal Aria stadium.

Since opening of the entertainment industry in Botswana, the African Queen, Makhadzi has frequented the country through The People’s Festival event by Gilbert Promotions.

Nonetheless,

the fans of the South African queen still yearn for more of her performances locally, hence yet another esteemed show. This time around, the event would be in Tlokweng and everyone is excited about it.

Event organiser, Gilbert Seagile aka PP Wa Pimp of Gilbert Promotions, recently had a chat with village leadership, Kgosi Michael Gaborone who has also approved the event. He actually dubbed the event as a community development initiative, and agrees that it is a cultural exchange occasion, in form of entertainment. He is of the view that the African Queen performing in their village means a lot as street vendors would benefit from this, and fun lovers would get to see the diva perform live in their ve3ry own backyard. Seagile adds that this is not just an ordinary show, but an inclusive one with two sessions, to allow everyone to attend the event and appreciate Makhadzi. “It is one of a kind event, and for the first time ever, Makhadzi is going to perform twice. The noon session would cater for the elderly and children, while the youth eat from the palm of their hands as she performs later at night as usual,” he explains. He reiterates that this is a cultural exchange initiative between Botswana and South Africa, to allow the artists to learn from each other, with possible collaborations within the industry. The event is also expected to host a Family fun day, by Ernest and Chonchong with those jumping castles and face painting activities, to cater for the children.

Local artistes including; Charma Gal, Vee Mampeezy, Scar, Dr Vom, Khoisan, Han C, Mingo, Slizer, MMP Family, Team Distant, Shaky Briz, and Fingers would be performing while, renowned DJs Crispin, The Drummer, Boogie Sid and DJ Lady among others would also shake the ground with what they do the best.

A team of talented local MCs among them Heey Nyeenah and the controversial BJB would also be on the line-up to engage the audience with their humorous characters. Known for his lively persona, friend of Makhadzi, Lebo Molax will also be present at the event. Other South African acts to perform at the event include; Caper Nyovest, Master KG. Zanda Zakuza, Prince Benza and Mr Brown.
