PULA MEDICAL AID REBRANDS TO PULAMED

Pula Medical Aid Fund Principal Officer, Dr Khumoetsil­e Mapitse said the company aims to deliver more innovation based products under its new brand as the business environmen­t continues to evolve.

After 30 years of existence, Pula Medical Aid has now rebranded to Pulamed with a new tagline of Hello Life. Mapitse said in coming up with the new brand identity, they had to ensure that they preserve the fund’s existing integrity and brand warmth whilst infusing new energy and maintainin­g the fund image and integrity in a changing operating environmen­t.

“Under the new trading name, logo, payoff line and purpose statement, we want our members to look forward to innovation-based solutions.”

In response to the challenges brought by Covid -19, Pula Medical Aid Fund introduced a WhatsApp line where clients pre-book their appointmen­ts. The fund has also set up a vaccinatio­n site at Grand Palm to reach out to more customers.

Mapitse also highlighte­d that regardless of the size of the fund or the industry, change is eminent hence the company had to adjust accordingl­y in order to remain relevant and competitiv­e. “Covid -19 has certainly taught us to be more agile and nimble if we are to stand a fighting chance of survival.”

In his remarks, Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Edwin Dikoloti applauded Pula Medical Aid Fund for being a consistent partner with government on providing healthcare to citizens. “I would like to applaud Pula Medical Aid Fund for some of the notable projects that they have embarked on in their efforts to show Batswana that they care for their health.”

He said Pula Medical Aid Fund’s provision of health services is not just merely helping cure the sick but also promoting healthy lifestyles in order to prevent diseases and ill-conditions, especially non-communicab­le diseases. He pointed out that the company’s agility to rebrand and reposition itself during an era where the world seems to be falling apart is a great milestone. “In a world where we always implore people and brands to be innovative, it is a true sign of resilience for Pula Medical Aid to have realigned its purpose and evolve its business model.”
