BOPHIRIMA HAS PROVIDED SOME LESSONS

The voters of Bophirima ward have made their decision and chosen their representative. We congratulate Manki Sekete on her victory and wish her well in her new role. Hopefully, she will have an impact on changing the landscape of what is one of the evidently challenged parts of the capital city. As I have said before, there were key issues that the voters had to reflect over in addition to selecting their representative. For the opposition to truly assert its claim as the vehicle for authentic change, we have to demonstrate total commitment to the values we promise to advance should we be voted to lead the nation. If we display lack of commitment to internal democracy, respect for our constitution and condone unilateral decision making, we lose the moral authority to demand for change. Special thanks to the AP who stood by our side as we voiced the issues that matter most to building the credibility of the opposition. In a period of 3 weeks, we mounted a campaign that persuaded 29% of the voters to cast a vote that demands for the opposition collective to reform and practice what we preach. The UDC with 41% of the votes needs to reflect as we engage on the best way to prepare for the 2024 elections. We remain committed to engaging all the opposition parties on cooperation for 2024 and hope that Bophirima has provided some lessons that will enrich the engagements. [Dumelang Saleshando]

All these stunts of fake alliance are well calculated to make AP look anti Opposition Unity. It’s a plan to belittle AP and not to command authority during negotiations with the UDC where Saleshando knows well he will negotiate against AP.
