- THE MIDWEEK SUN

Dear SKI Ian Seretse Khama. Why do you hate democracy so much ? I have now finally come to the conclusion that you abhore democracy. Infact to put it even more succinctly you are allergic to democracy.

Upon becoming president of this republic you went on a mission to almost completely obliterate inner party democracy within the BDP. Skii inner party democracy and a nations democracy are intertwined thus inseparable. It is like trying to seperate salive from the tongue, none can function without the other. Let’s go back to where it all started, the 2008 BDP Kanye congress where the Gomolemo Motswaledi/Daniel Kwelagobe faction won all positions with a landslide margin. You thereafter took it upon yourself to make sure that, that democratic outcome does not live to see the light of day to the extent that the outcome of your dislike for democracy was the formation of the BMD, a breakaway splinter group from the BDP headed by the late Gomolemo Motswaledi, MHSRIP. Skii, do you ever pause to remember Gomolemo Motswaledi ? Pause to ponder on whether he would still be alive had your actions not thrown him from one end to another ? Do you ever pause to wonder that was it not for you Gomolemo Motswaledi would probably be president of this country as we speak ? Do you ever pause and wonder that Nonofo Molefi would probably be president of this country was it not for your suppression of inner party democracy ? Fast forward after serving your two terms and becoming former president a lot happened that led you to joining opposition politics. At first some of us were reluctant to work with you but because we are Christians, because we believe in democracy and because we believe every human being deserves a second chance, we welcomed you against a tirade of criticism, but we did welcome you. The good thing about giving a person a second chance Skii is that when they plunder that second chance you move on with a very clear conscience, you no longer give a shit. Sometimes early last year you welcomed myself, Noah Salakae and those we were with to Statehouse four. Myself and Salakae explained to you quite elaborately our skepticism on Duma Boko’s leadership, in a nutshell his dictatorial tendencies. But besides that I am quite sure le wena you can attest to that. Every honest opposition politician knows about Boko’s dictatorship except the Judas Escariots. Skii one of the reasons we gave you a second chance is we believed that whilst president you were misled by the bootlickers who surrounded you. But now everybody has abandoned you even your most trusted bootlickers so nobody can be blamed or accused of misleading you except you yourself. You see Skii o motona mo go nna and I have to respect your status as former president but this is politics Nkonne as your subjects would pronounce it, there’s a certain line which if you cross we shove respect aside, with a blink of an eye for that matter. So please don’t drive us there because re tloga re go tlhokela maitseo. Now having killed democracy in this country through your dictatorship you are hellbent on ushering in another dictatorship masquerading as opposition in Duma Boko. It is can’t Skii, it is can’t. Jaanong o fetile metsi o tshwere seretse ke sa reye ngwana wa ga ope as Gomolemo Motswaledi would put it. Duelanang tse le di kolotang le Boko koo but don’t use us as your medium of your transactions. Masisi and the BDP are at war with you and that should be enough for you to deal with, so don’t invite another war from elsewhere by entertaining and financing a dictatorship within opposition politics. Re tlaa GOSOMANELA mo go wena. Lastly, this ain’t personal, just business.
