Zolasko drops ‘Zim & Bots, We are 1’

- BY IRENE SHONE

Zolasko’s newly released song ‘Zim & Bots, We are 1’ is one special track meant to unite African musicians, and remind them that music has no boundaries, and that they should support one another.

The legendary musician and producer often pays so much attention to every detail and tries to speak up through his songs. Lately, he has been advocating for upcoming artistes to be recognised.

Above that, he has done his best to record a few upcoming artistes at his studio, and continues to believe that there is much talent in Botswana music industry and Africa as a whole.

“I have recently observed that Botswana and Zimbabwe are practically sister countries, so much that there is a significant population of Zimbabweans in our country. They help remarkably when it comes to labour in Botswana. However, local promoters hardly invite Zimbabwean artistes to our events,” says Zolasko.

He says for this reason, he dropped this song to try and bring light to the promoters that they are mostly interested in South African musicians, and leave Zimbabwean musicians behind. “I only wanted to hint this through this song because I know that collaborations that may come from Botswana and Zimbabwe on different genres may be interesting to the entire African continent,” says Zolasko. He believes in love, and emphasises that Botswana is one country known for its love for the arts. The House Kwasa song was released only last week and already receiving positive feedback as he is getting requests on the song on social media. It has been delivered at different radio stations and already played on repeat mode at Duma Fm and RB1 stations.
