-

Grey Syl’s new single, ‘Re Semeletse’ is a Tswana hip hop song meant to bring his unique and authentic approach within the local music industry. He said he took his time to release this offering, with an aim to present growth.

The phrase, ‘Re Semeletse’ literally translates to ‘we are doing well’, and Grey Syl recently told Vibe that this was his way to share with his fans that he is doing well and wishes everyone else could take whatever they do seriously to have a perfect finished product.

”I wanted to indicate that I feel content where I am now and smell so much progress in my music career.

The message of this song is that, ‘consistency is key in this music industry, hence all the local artistes need to work harder and target the international market,” he said.

This song follows his debut album ‘Mmamati Effect’ which he believes also did so well as it earned him a performance at the local music tv show, Flava Dome,

The Blac network, Francistown Online Radio, and Mokaragana recently.

He expressed hope that ‘Re semeletse’ would also attract the same level of positive feedback, as it is already trending on various social media platforms. It was actually produced by one upcoming producer, Hood Beatz (MP Morapedi), while Grey Syl mastered the song, himself.

“I like working with upcoming talent which is why the song was produced by this upcoming dope producer, Hood Beatz (MP Morapedi). I believe that fresh artistes deserve a chance to be known and heard.”

He also said that he can’t go on without mentioning that, Re Semeletse has been trending a lot on social media and his followers have even already started the hashtag #ReSemeletse, meaning that all they dream of is progress in their lives.

Grey Syl further told Vibe that the promotional video to the song has also been circulating widely on social media as he prepares for the official music video to be shot in a couple of months.
