TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL
New revamped Sedupenyane family home takes shape Good Samaritans heed call to help
Keboletse Sedupenyane is amazed at the transformation of her house. It is still early days to revamp her family home and breathe new life into it. At 82 years, she never thought that she would live to see something as big as what is currently happening in her home. For over a week now, her house has been filled with builders, electricians and a team that is currently turning the house into something of a dream. The movement has not gone unnoticed.
It has grabbed the attention of residents, who have been wondering what was happening in the house. But one certain thing is that when the finished house is unveiled, they will be blown away.
This past Friday, she was handed materials that include floor tiles. It took her a few minutes to really grasp that all of the materials that she was receiving was for her house. She was literally in disbelief.
Prior to the launch of this project, Sedupenyane was living in a very modest fourroomed house with a number of challenges. The roof was leaking, which forced the family to abandon using their kitchen as it literally turned into a dam when it rains. The house walls were infested with several cracks with doors and windows missing where they had to be. Sedupenyane is the mother to Private
James Sedupenyane who has been missing since May 5th 1993. This May marks 29 years since his family last saw him. He had been the financial backbone of the family and his disappearance had left them with no one to lean on.
Headed by local company, KED Interiors, the bulk of the work will be done by month end. As of today, the electrician has done all that needs to be done to connect electricity, the ceiling has been fitted, and the leaking roof has also been sealed. The team handling this revamping exercise will do
the last coating on the roof.
Speaking in an interview on Friday, an elated Sedupenyane thanked KED Interiors for everything that the company was doing for her. She also thanked The Midweek Sun for walking with her through the years, and holding her hands during some of the most difficult days in her life.
“I can never thank everyone enough for all that they are doing for me,” she said excitedly.
She said that while this project will not erase her pain, it will give her something to smile about. “I
wish everyone the best of luck for everything that they are doing for me. May the Almighty bless Saseng and his team,” she said. Asked about how she feels with all the developments, she revealed that she has seen a big change in her house to a point where she cannot recognise it anymore. “It is already looking like a new house,” she said. Taking over from his mother, Benjamin Sedupenyane hailed the initiative, and said that it was still unbelievable to see the new house taking shape. “I can promise you that all of this is possible because of our Almighty,” he said, giving appreciation to everyone who has jumped at the opportunity to give them something to smile about.
“We never expected to see something like this happening here,” he said. In an interview, Kevin Saseng, the Director of KED Interiors explained that they had completed plastering the ceiling, and were hoping to complete the works by this Friday. He also divulged that the tiling would be fitted this weekend and that they will then move to plastering, and fitting the kitchen. “We have made good progress since we started,” he said, noting that he is happy with how everything is coming along.
