CHOBE HARD HIT BY DIARRHOEA
The Chobe district has been experiencing another bout of persistent seasonally occurring outbreak of diarrhoea mainly affecting children below five years of age. Diarrhoeal disease is a leading cause of child mortality and morbidity in the world, and mostly results from contaminated food and water sources. To prevent it, the Ministry advises the public to boil water to ensure that it is safe to drink, keep their environment clean, and wash hands with soap to reduce disease risk. Diarrhoea should be treated with oral rehydration solution (ORS), a solution of clean water, sugar and salt.
